Story spoilers
Alma is revealed to be a girl, Yuuma's twin sister and one of Fealina's children. Their mother died during their childhood, and Jewelina separated the twins out of fear that they might awaken the forbidden Battest. Misunderstanding the separation, Alma seeks the Battest to take revenge, revive her mother and reunite the family. Later, under the alias Laiya, Alma enters the Jewel Star Grand Prix with white hair after absorbing some of the Battest's power, eventually seals the Battest and revives Diana, Opal and Fealina. By the OVA, Alma lives with Fealina and Yuuma at a family-run flower shop.
