Biography
Albert Desler is the Supreme Leader of the Gamilas Empire and the principal antagonist of Space Battleship Yamato. He masterminds the assault on Earth, whose radioactive meteor bombs force humanity underground.
Story spoilers
Although first presented as a conqueror pursuing expansion for its own sake, Desler is later revealed to be seeking Earth as a new home for his people because their own planet faces imminent destruction.
