Alain de Soisson

He initially accepts Oscar and befriends André, but later rejects her leadership because he refuses to be ordered around by a noble. After Oscar defeats him in a fight, he asks her to save a condemned comrade, which she does. Alain becomes fiercely loyal to her and, in the manga, falls in love with her while recognizing her feelings for André.
