Akira Hayama

Akira Hayama is Professor Jun Shiomi's assistant and a specialist in curry, spices, and aroma. Orphaned overseas, he met Jun at a market after warning her about adulterated spices; she recognized his talent, brought him to Japan, and became a mother figure to him. Akira's exceptionally sharp sense of smell lets him identify ingredients and assess cooking from its aroma, earning him recognition as an "Aroma Master."
