Summer Time Rendering

Shinpei Ajiro returns to his island hometown for the first time in two years after the death of his childhood friend, Ushio Kofune. What should be a funeral and homecoming soon becomes unsettling when his best friend Sou Hishigata expresses doubts about the circumstances of Ushio's death.

The following day, an entire neighboring family suddenly disappears. Further unease comes from Mio, who recalls a mysterious "shadow" appearing three days before Ushio died. Summer Time Rendering begins with Shinpei confronting these connected warning signs as grief gives way to suspicion and the small island reveals a far more sinister mystery than he expected to find.
