A revolutionary device allows scientists to enter another person's dreams and record what they experience there. When the machine is stolen, the boundary between private imagination and external danger becomes unstable. A detective and a therapist join forces to recover the technology before someone can exploit dreams as a weapon. Their search moves through an increasingly uncertain landscape where reality and dream imagery collide, making it difficult to know where one ends and the other begins.
