Lovely Complex

Risa Koizumi and Atsushi Ootani both want to find romance in high school, but their height difference makes them unusually conspicuous: Risa is much taller than the average girl, while Ootani is much shorter than the average boy. Their classmates and teacher even treat their constant arguments like a comedy act.

Their romantic fortunes become worse when the people they each like fall for one another. Left heartbroken together, Risa and Ootani begin encouraging each other in the search for someone new and gradually become close friends. As they discover shared tastes in music and fashion beneath all their bickering, the possibility emerges that the mismatched pair may understand each other better than either expected.
