Log Horizon

Elder Tales is a massively popular online fantasy game played by millions around the world. When its twelfth expansion arrives, the game's immersion becomes literal: thousands of players suddenly find themselves trapped inside the world that had previously existed only on their screens.

Among them is Shiroe, an eight-year veteran of Elder Tales, along with his friend Naotsugu and assassin Akatsuki. Around thirty thousand other players face the same predicament. Familiar mechanics no longer function exactly as expected, and the world's former non-player characters now appear to be genuinely alive. Shiroe and the others must therefore relearn a setting they once thought they understood, adapting their game knowledge to a new reality where social rules, survival, and the people around them can no longer be treated like ordinary software.
