Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress

Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress takes place during an industrial revolution in a world threatened by Kabane, aggressive undead creatures created when humans are infected by a monster's bite. Their hearts are protected by iron, making them extremely difficult to kill. On the island of Hinomoto, survivors shelter inside fortified stations connected by steam locomotives called Hayajiro. Ikoma, a young man living at Aragane Station, develops a weapon called the Tsuranukizutsu specifically to fight the Kabane. His chance to test it comes when an infected train arrives out of control and the station itself falls under attack.
